Public facing Issue Tracking for Adobe Flex

On April 26, 2007 Adobe announced plans to move the development of Flex to an open source model.

On June 11, 2007, the Flex 3 beta was released to the world, along with a new public JIRA bug and issue tracking system for Flex and other related commercial Adobe projects. When the Flex open source announcement was made earlier in the year, an aggressive schedule was required to deliver a JIRA system for this highly anticipated launch.

CustomWare Asia Pacific's proven track record with delivering Atlassian based systems worldwide was put to the test - with the immense task of migrating existing bug records from various existing Adobe systems into a new customized public-facing JIRA. The new system would not only be used by hundreds of internal Adobe engineers - but would need appropriate security models so that the system could also be used by external reporters and future community committers on the Flex open source project.

CustomWare worked closely with Adobe both onsite in San Francisco (with our US partner - New Aspects of Software) and remotely to design, implement and construct the customized JIRA-based, public facing issue tracking system. It took only six weeks from the first meeting - to the first roll-out to 100+ internal Adobe developers.

The Flex JIRA system makes use of numerous custom workflow actions and plug-ins designed by CustomWare - including a unique integration with Adobe's build infrastructure.
