Remember...
This is the way a broker should ALWAYS be installed. There is no need to install Broker as root, it is not hard to do the extra setup and running as a regular user keeps your machine far safer.

Use the normal webMethods installer and then refer to the steps listed in the chapter of the PlatformInstallGuide.pdf titled "Complete the webMethods Broker Installation (Unix non root user)".

Rough overview of steps:

create a directory to store the broker monitor config and data
modify the S45broker script to point to the data and config directories
in the shell export the ACTIVE_CONFIG and ACTIVE_HOME settings
run the command to create a broker monitor config
fire up the broker monitor
run the command to create a broker server
run the command to add the user/group stuff to broker monitor
run the command to create a default broker (optional - may be done using WmBrokerAdmin)
