Every few months in Sydney, a group of developers, bloggers, entrepreneurs, consultants, educationalists, accountants in practice, or anyone interested in wikis, social software, and web 2.0 get together to share their experiences. Everybody is welcome. Wiki Wednesdays have been happening in Sydney for a couple of years and are also held regularly all over the world.

Details

Date 1st July 2009
Time 6-8.30pm
Venue Atlassian HQ, 173-185 Sussex Street, Sydney

Program

The topic of Wiki Wednesdays is very broadly "wiki use". For the first time, we will be using the Pecha Kucha format, where each speaker shows 20 slides, each for 20 seconds, resulting in a concise talk lasting 6 minutes and 40 seconds. You can find some tips on presenting in this format here. Sign up for you presentation in the table below:

Time Name Topic

6:50
Matt Moore
OzCollab

Note, as per Robyn's comment below, Atlassian will provide a Mac computer (with sound), so just bring along a thumb drive with your presentation.

Some ideas:

  • What does wiki mean to you?
  • How is your company using wikis?
  • Why isn't your company using wikis?
  • How have you convinced people to edit your wiki?
  • What do you think of Wikipedia? Has your company has problems with its article?
  • What do you think the future of wikis will be?
  • How well do wikis integrate with other Enterprise 2.0 tools such as blogs or Yammer?
